Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally with a variety of areas to maximize the
value the Operations Data Layer provides to the organization, that
includes helping to facilitate and comprehend requirements,
defining solution functionality, designing solutions as well as
developing and enhancing solutions over time.
- Perform as a Team Lead who is hands-on and utilize demonstrated
experience in developing and maintaining the central data
repository in support of multiple species for all Business
Intelligence needs.
- Direct and oversee the work of other team members.
- Provide Data Engineering Support, that entails: Provide
Requirements, Data Validation, UAT and work with IT to build data
views for use by all downstream applications like Dashboards,
Rebate data from Proagrica, RPA BOT Automation, CABU Partnership
App (Celeritas), MWI EDI Pilot, AERA Days of Supply, ASLAN Catalyst
dashboard etc.; Provide requirements to IT for building backend
objects that are required for downstream business groups like CABU
and Livestock Business analysts / Pricing team; Partner with IT on
building and maintaining the self-service operations data layer
that acts as a central repository for all Data Warehouse and
Business Intelligence needs.
- Responsible for Dashboards and Reporting, that entails: Support
dashboards in self-service mode - Planning / Development &
Production Enhancement Requirements / User training / Co-ordination
to align with business priorities; Perform UAT, Provide feedback to
IT for seamless migration of dashboards from On Premise to Cloud;
Develop Ad hoc business reports for Sales, Marketing, Finance and
other teams through Alteryx from Cloud.
- Responsible for Data Governance and Monitoring, that entails:
Partner with IT to Define data governance standards and build
business / technical lineage with Collibra; Define Business Terms /
Acronyms / Processes / various dash- boards.
- Link above business assets for traceability / lineage and make
them available for business consumption; Monitor data quality
report and work proactively with IT on data issues as part of daily
reconciliation process; Check the accuracy of the master and
operational data which impacts dashboard reporting.
- Responsible for Data Management, that entails: Maintain
Standard pricing across all species at multiple Units of Measure
and load all Special pricing programs across species by UIN from
PROS; Develop PL/SQL Stored Procedures and Functions for automating
the loading and validation of all Master data entities in the
centralized Master Data Repository; Develop and execute automated
scripts to provide data and context to incoming field requests from
Salesforce system; Be accountable for Master data updates and
enhancements especially with data shared with external partners
like Proagrica and Celeritas.
- Responsible for Database Development and Reporting, that
entails: Build Database views for master data and sales reporting
via internal applications and data visualization tools; Create and
automate SQL scripts for providing reports/ data to internal
(Sales, Marketing, Finance, Audit)/external partners for
Margin/Rebate calculation and Pricing Portal for Distribution;
Develop scripts for generating Gross to Net files for SAP upon
Pricing updates. Work collaboratively across teams to design and
build solutions with the IT department.
- Provide guidance on solution requirements and solution
recommendations.
- Manage the implementation of new enhancements.
- Prioritize tasks and activities for provisioning data via
Dashboards or other backend data views.
- Assist other Spotfire team members to develop reports and
dashboards to assist the business Serve as a subject matter
expert.
- Remain current on new features and functionality of the
Spotfire product line and provide recommendations for process
improvements.
- Evaluate those capabilities for their business
benefit.Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree (or US equivalent) in Computer
Science or Engineering.
- Must have 15 years of relevant work experience. Experience
working in tools and applications such as SQL Loader, Toad,
Workbench for AWS Redshift, SQL Developer for Oracle; and
experience in Animal Health industry including business knowledge
of EDI / AHN processes also required.
- Must have ability to explore/evaluate various BI tools and
Integration of tools for different business use cases.
- Must have ability to build Spotfire and Power BI Dashboards;
ability to work independently and within a team and direct the
resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems; and
ability to facilitate continuous improvement efforts
collaboratively with team and peers.
- Proficiency in using Programming Languages such as SQL, PL/SQL,
Oracle DDL, Unix Shell Scripts required.
- Must have knowledge of Oracle Databases like 11G and 12G;
proficient in Data Modeling tools like Erwin; and exposure to
Windows, Linux, and Unix Operating Systems.
- Excellent communication, relationship and leadership skills are
required.
- Must possess strong troubleshooting, analytical and
problem-solving skills balanced with a creative mindset.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to handle multiple tasks and
priorities.
